Aylesford Bulls got back to winning ways with a shutout victory at home.
After a rest week a strong side took to the paddock at the Jack Williams Ground to face Sidcup IIs.
In abysmal conditions which had put the usual pitch out of actions Bulls and Sidcup trudged through an uninspiring first 40, with a Chester Clough penalty struck from half way the difference going into the break.
The second half was far more fruitful for the hosts.
Second row Harry Sievewright crashed over from five metres out for the game’s first try before a big hit from centre Luke Stroud dampened Sidcup’s first spell of pressure.
Captain Ben Pass then dotted down from the back of an impressive driving maul. Clough added the extras.
Number eight James Alexander would add his name to the scoresheet, the benefactor of a wonderful Lee Gilchrist pass, with Clough again converting to bring proceedings to a close at 22-0.
After the match Pass said: “We brought the structure we’ve been focusing on from the training paddock to the game and kept our discipline. I’m proud of the boys.”
Bulls travel to Dartford Valley on Saturday. Kick off is 2.30pm.
