Aylesford Bulls RFC

25 - 26

(HT 0-0)

Vigo RFC

Fresh from a last-minute victory Aylesford Bulls were this week on the wrong end of a nail biting finish.
A typically tough Vigo arrived at the Jack Williams Ground eager to avenge a three-point loss in October.
The lead was traded several times before rapid winger Tom Hughes appeared to have stolen the win in the final seconds after getting on the end of a cross field kick, only for play to be called back for offside.
Vigo struck first before prop Lee Gilchrist pulled Bulls to within two points. Captain Ben Pass then burrowed over on twenty minutes with the score staying at 10-7 going into the break.
The visitors again opened the scoring in the second half. Winger Russell Trundle’s try then nudged Bulls a point ahead.
Pass added second to seal a bonus point for Bulls and stretch the lead to six but it would be missed opportunities with the boot that would cost the home side and despite a final Bulls try courtesy of Trundle Vigo were able to score twice, converting one to bring the final score to 24-25.
Bulls, still fifth in Counties 2, travel to 11th-placed Old Dunstonians this week.
