Aylesford Bulls RFC

5 - 50

(HT 5-28)

Dartford Valley RFC

Tough day at the office for the ladies this week, taking an 05-50 score against Dartford Valley. Although the score may seem steep there are still lots of positives for the team to take away from the games.

Starting the game off one our debut players Evie took the ball in to a huge carry which set the tone for her game ahead. An almighty double tackle saw Yasmin and Kelsey clash, a quick off load for Dartford saw them run in their first try.

At the restart Natasha looked to make ground with a big carry but unfortunately ended in a yellow card, as she was deemed to be leading with an elbow and Aylesford had to survive 10 minutes with 14 players. This however didn’t interrupt their go forward as the Bulls took to some heavy pick and go’s before Emily scored the try.

Tackling, physicality and work rate were a huge positive for the Ladies in Sundays game as big hit after big hit was made but players such as: Lady Mick, Hannah, Claire and Evie (who continued to impress at full back).

The team continued to play hard even when falling behind on the scoreboard. Rucking and support plays were much improved this week and was a huge highlight of the games.

Not giving up, the team played hard to the final minutes. Hannah charged down a conversion from the Dartford 10, saving 2 extra points on the board before the final few plays of the game.

A tough loss for the team but as mentioned still lots of positives to be had. The Ladies are finding their feet in the new league and continue to find things to work on and improve. A rest week for the team on Sunday but training continues, with spirits high, as the look ahead to Pulborough on the 8th October.
