Aylesford Bulls pulled off the double against Folkestone on Saturday, with both the 1st and 2nd XV heaping more than 40 points on their opposition.
Bulls 1s produced a stellar display across two pitches on a dramatic day at the Jack Williams Ground, with the game being relocated due to a nasty injury to Folkestone’s winger.
The home side cantered to a 12-0 lead early on before Folkestone hit back to lead by two at the break.
Bulls came into their own in the second half and – despite a red card for flanker Tom Burnett, a yellow for winger Barnaby Brown and injuries to prop Lee Gilchrist and full back Billy Marsden – ran in four more tries for a 43-26 bonus point victory.
Tries came courtesy of Gilchrist, Brown, Travis Coetzer, Dennis Ayers and Connor Vening. While Bulls were also awarded a penalty try.
Finn Ashdown-Denney added five conversions and a penalty.
On the road Bulls 2nd XV beat Folkestone 27-44 while on Sunday Aylesford Bulls Ladies began their league campaign with a 0-43 win over Beccehamian.
Bulls, now fourth in Counties Two, travel to table toppers Old Elthamians this week while the 2nd XV take on Edenbridge at home and the ladies visit Tunbridge Wells on Sunday.
