A strong start from Aylesford Bulls wasn’t enough to deter table-topping Old Elthamians, who piled on the points to maintain their perfect start.
Bulls crossed early through second row George Hepper and were then awarded a penalty try after a trundling maul was hauled down as it approached the line.
But OEs, returning to Counties Two having tumbled down the leagues from the third tier after financial difficulties, ran out 31-12 victors. They are now sitting pretty on 20 points, with Bulls sixth on 12.
Elsewhere both Bulls 2nd XV and ladies team continued their unbeaten starts to the season.
Bulls 2s finished on top by just a point in a fierce contest with Edenbridge, dangerous centre Liam Ingram crossing for his second try in the closing minutes. Gareth Cresswell converted four from four, with the other two a spectacular brace from Jamie Hill. Final score at the Jack Williams Ground: 28-27. Bulls 2s are now tied at the top of the league.
Bulls ladies won on the road for a second week in a row, banishing Tunbridge Wells 0-44 in the Women’s Junior Cup.
