Medway RFC

10 - 6

(HT 3-6)

Aylesford Bulls RFC

It came down to the wire at a sodden Priestfield with Medway scoring in the final minute of play to grab the win.
Going into the dying moments Aylesford Bulls led 3-6 thanks to two Fin Ashdown-Denney penalties.

Through driving rain and churning mud the game was predominantly fought up front, with Bulls pack winning that battle convincingly.

Come half time there was nothing in it, a single penalty apiece to show from a grim first 40 minutes.

Bulls scrum was firing on all cylinders and were unlucky not to win at least one penalty.

But it was out wide where the game was eventually clinched, Medway shipping it to their wing who brushed off tacklers to scoot over in the corner.

Bulls losing bonus point wasn’t enough to stop Medway leapfrogging them in the league. Now seventh, they have a week off before welcoming Old Alleynians to the Jack Williams Ground.

Bulls 2nd XV went down 15-31 to Medway at home.

Bulls Ladies had better luck on the road at Gravesend. They ran away 14-89 winners in the pink-themed league fixture, with the game raising money for Rugby Against Cancer.
