Aylesford Bulls started the new year on the wrong end of a 14-57 drubbing to high-flying Old Elthamians.
The south-east London club continued their impressive run since being promoted as they seek to climb back up the leagues after crashing down due to financial difficulties.
They ran in five tries in the first half and added another four in the second.
Bulls, who were hoping to put things right after a poor run of form which included a narrow loss to Folkestone just before Christmas, lost flanker James Alexander shortly into the second period after he was red carded for a high tackle.
Late Bulls tries from prolific scorer Tom Hughes and prop Lee Gilchrist stood testament to the side’s character but ultimately provided little consolation.
Bulls travel to Gillingham Amchorians this Saturday as they seek to get their season back on track.
Bulls 2nd XV’s match away at Edenbridge was called off after 20 minutes due to a frozen pitch.
Table-topping Bulls Ladies had better luck on Sunday, thrashing Beccehamian 67-0 to make it seven wins from seven.
