The game kicked off on a windy day, with both teams fielding strong sides. Tunbridge Wells started with an impressive kick, but Bulls’ Millie (12) quickly kicked for touch, leading to a successful lineout steal. Fleur (15) opened the scoring with a brilliant try, evading six defenders, and soon added a second to give Bulls a 10-point lead. Yasmin (13) followed with another try after strong defensive work and a crucial jackal from Carly Walker (6).
Tunbridge Wells responded well to Bulls’ powerful forward carries and set plays but couldn’t stop Ruby (7) from breaking through for a try after well-executed phases from the Bulls forwards. Millie (12) converted. Despite pressure from Wells, Bulls’ defence held firm, highlighted by a double tackle from Hannah (8) and Laura (4). Amelia (9) made great metres from two well-received Wells kicks, keeping Bulls on the front foot. After a sharp set play, Andi (10) added a fifth try, converted by Millie, ending the first half 29-0.
In the second half, Wells started strong but struggled against Bulls’ dominant scrum. Fleur (15) scored again from a quick tap, and Andi (10) added another try after a clever assist from the scrum from Hannah (8). Aylesford’s bench made a sure impact, with debutant Niamh Hall contributing well in her first game as a bull and Emily making several strong tackles and big carries. The final try came from Kelsey (2), assisted by Amelia (9), sealing a 44-0 win from a true team effort, a great display from Bulls Ladies.
Bulls face New Ash Green in Round 2 of the cup on 27th October, with their first home league fixture being against Ashford Ladies on 13th October.
