A cold but sunny morning greeted the Aylesford and Tunbridge Wells U13s for what looked destined to be a great battle by two teams fighting for the league 2 title. Both teams came into this with 100% records from the previous 4 games setting up an exciting 5th and final game of the season
The game did not disappoint. From the very first moment, it was evident that it would be two talented teams going toe to toe. T Wells' speed and ability at the ruck was nothing short of excellent. It nullified the strong Aylesford attack as we couldnt retain the ball and gave T Wells a fantastic base to attack from, one they took full advantage of to earn a half time lead.
With heads dropping, a rallying team talk was needed to remind the Bulls what they were capable of. With renewed vigour, the bulls started the second half brightly and within minutes the scores were level setting up a tantalising second half. Bulls matched T Wells in the breakdown and the Aylesford defence was exemplary, gaining ground even without the ball. The Bulls sheer determination and refusal to give up saw them prevail as match and league winners in what was the best game of rugby we've witnessed this season. Both teams should be proud of their performance and the season as a whole. A wonderful game played in great spirits to round out an excellent season for the U13s.
