A rearranged fixture against Gillingham Anchorians saw Aylesford Bulls fail to build on last week’s well-earned victory.
With key players missing and a growing injury list Bulls experimented with combinations and welcomed back some old faces against a sturdy Anchs unit.
The home side raced into a 19-0 lead before Bulls pulled a try back through hooker Darren Jalink. Matt Duffy added the extras on his return from injury.
Anchs added a penalty and a try before Bulls were able to narrow the gap through prolific Tom Hughes. He converted his own score but Anchs ultimately proved too strong and soon sealed the win with a bonus point try.
A third Bulls try through Hughes, again converted by him to take his personal tally to 14 points, put some gloss on the scoresheet but was too late to salvage anything from the fixture. 36-21.
Bulls travel to The Mote on Saturday for a derby match against Maidstone.
