Aylesford Bulls RFC

32 - 26

(HT 0-0)

Old Alleynians RFC
Aylesford Bulls continued their promotion push with a ninth consecutive win on Saturday.
Fresh from a stunning victory over league leaders Tonbridge Juddians, they welcomed Old Alleynians to the Jack Williams Ground.
When these two sides met last year, OAs raced to a hefty half-time lead before Bulls mounted a miraculous, yet ultimately fruitless, comeback.
It was the last time Bulls lost.
From the off Bulls seemed keen to avenge that defeat.
Tries from prolific Tom Hughes, Ben Pass and Travis Coetzer – the first and third converted by Chester Clough – saw Bulls establish a comfortable 19-0 lead at half time.
But much like the previous fixture, the second period saw the visitors rally.
It started as the first had ended with Bulls piling on the pressure.
Winger Christian Dolley scored a fourth before Pass completed a brace.
But OAs then stirred, clawing back an unconverted try minutes later before scoring 14 unanswered points.
Chester Clough knocked over a penalty to make it 32-19 but OAs weren’t finished, adding a fourth try to narrow the gap to six.
Bulls managed to close it out but OAs took two bonus points against the odds.
Bulls, second in a competitive Counties Two, now have a week off before facing Sidcup at home.
