Aylesford Bulls RFC
Charlton Park RFC

Aylesford Bulls made up for a disappointing start to their league campaign with an eight-try victory over Charlton Park.
Flying winger Tom Hughes grabbed a hat trick on his return, there was a brace for second row George Hepper and one try apiece for captain Ben Pass, winger Christian Dolley and tight head Jordan O’Leary.
In total 79 points were scored in an action-packed game that showed no sign of letting up.
Hughes had the pick of the bunch, plucking a late kick off from the air and carving through the defence to seal the win.
It was an appropriate end to the game – he’d opened the scoring 80 minutes earlier in near-identical fashion. Fin Ashdown-Denney added the extras.
Dolley promptly added five points from his wing before Park hit back.
Hooker Pass trundled over for Bulls’ third, the subsequent conversion putting them 17-5 up at half time.
Park were out of the blocks fastest in the second period but O’Leary, tricky to stop from close range at the best of times, soon bundled over for his second try in two weeks. Ashdown-Denney narrowly missed the kick.
Park hit back again before Hepper crossed for his first of the afternoon.
It was end to end stuff with some fabulous running rugby on show from both sides and Park soon hit back.
Ashdown-Denney kicked the hosts into a three-point lead before Hughes added his second thanks to a wonderful pass by Joe Temperton.
Hepper completed a brace to give Bulls breathing space but Park responded well to close the gap to six points with minutes to go.
It was down to Hughes, then, to put the game beyond doubt, as is so often the case producing aerial magic from the kick off. Ashdown-Denney added the extras to bring the final score to 46-33.
Coach Dave Tenters said: “Preparation for this week’s game started from the final whistle at Sittingbourne. All week at training the lads knew what they needed to do to stick last week’s result behind them.
“From the first minute when we regathered the kick off and managed to run the length the lads could quite easily have switched off, but they kept focus and continued to work.
“Charlton Park presented players of great skill, but our focus around defence and go forward ball in attack proved the difference.”
Park, who were relegated last season, will have to wait another week to kick start their stuttering promotion push.
Bulls, up to fifth, welcome Sidcup to the Jack Williams Ground on Saturday.

Bulls 2nd XV got their season underway with a 5-76 12-try demolition of Medway 3rd XV.
Coach Jon Alderton said: “After what has felt like a lifetime since our last competitive game it was great to get the win.
“We had a young side packed with talent who played calmly and maturely throughout but credit to Medway’s pack who kept the pressure up and gave us something to work on at training.
“I am proud of the dominance we showed, but Ash, last years league winners, will be a few levels up so we’ll need to be at our best if we’re to see a repeat of this performance.”
