Gabs began her rugby journey at Aylesford Bulls Rugby Club when she was just 6.

Picking up skills and bossing the boys around with her partner in crime, Lucy Evans

From tag rugby to full contact, taking in several tours where many a cup was raised in celebration.

When the boys and girls had to split, she moved away from rugby to netball, honing her passing and catching skills all be it with a different shaped ball.
But aged 15, rugby drew her back in, and she returned to Aylesford Bulls playing for the U15s, swiftly followed by the U18s.

2022 saw her selected for Kent U18s which led to an invitation to trial for Wasps and then playing for their Centre of Excellence until they unfortunately folded.
This prompted her to move to Harlequins for her final year as an U18 Centre of Excellence player.
And then in September 2023, the all important email from James Cooper the U18 England Women’s head coach, dropped into her inbox, inviting her to an England training camp.
Inspired by the likes of Rosie Galligan who also went from Aylesford Bulls to Quins and then to England, Gabs threw everything she could at this opportunity.
A quick trip to Dublin earned her, her first cap against Ireland and now, the ultimate selection for the U18 Six Nations Squad heading to Wales on 27th March.

Gabs’ rugby journey so far has been amazing. From tag rugby tournaments at Butlins, to winning the Kent league with Bull Oaks, the extremely successful Sevenoaks collaboration; to the social secretary at the Worthing 10s tournament.

It’s been made all the better as she’s done it all with great clubs, great collaborations, great coaches, and most of all, the best team mates. Some of whom have been there since the beginning.

Good luck with the Red Roses in Wales Gabs.

Everyone is behind you, wishing you and your England team mates the very best of luck for a successful tournament.

And let’s not forget that rugby is a sport where you make the very best of friends and amazing memories.
Gabs, journey has been shared with us by her number 1 fan Mum Gilly Hurley and everyone at Bulls wishes Gabs all the best and we will be cheering her on all the way.
