Aylesford Bulls RFC Social Media Policy

1. Purpose
This policy sets out the expectations for all players, staff, volunteers, parents, and work experience students when using social media in relation to Aylesford Bulls RFC. It aims to:

Protect the club’s reputation.
Promote safe, inclusive, and respectful online engagement.
Align with England Rugby’s values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline, and sportsmanship.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all digital platforms, including:

Social media: Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, YouTube
Messaging apps: WhatsApp, Messenger, Signal
Blogs, forums, and other online communities
3. General Guidelines
Respect & Integrity: Communicate honestly and respectfully. Avoid offensive, discriminatory, or harmful content.
Privacy & Consent: Do not share personal information or images of others—especially minors—without explicit consent.
Confidentiality: Do not disclose sensitive club matters, internal communications, or private discussions.
Constructive Engagement: Avoid public arguments or criticism of players, referees, opposition, or club decisions.
Inclusivity: Ensure all content reflects the club’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
4. Club Representation
Only designated individuals may post on behalf of Aylesford Bulls RFC.
All official accounts must be approved and monitored by the club’s communications team.
Use of club branding (logos, kits, etc.) must be appropriate and pre-approved.
5. Safeguarding
Images or videos of youth players must only be shared with written parental consent.
Do not tag or identify minors in public posts.
Any safeguarding concerns must be reported immediately to the Club Safeguarding Officer.
6. Compliance & Breaches
Breaches of this policy may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or termination of club involvement.
Serious breaches may be escalated to the RFU or relevant authorities.
All users are expected to comply with RFU policies on safeguarding, data protection, and discriminatory behaviour2 3.
7. Reporting Concerns
